How to find Careers Information - a guide for the Sixth Former.

Gone are the days when the Careers teacher told you what job you should go for. Nowadays, with the amount of choices confronting you, the onus is on you to make the decision on your future career path, and to use all the help that is possible in making your decision.
So who, and what, can helpyou?
The Careers Adviser - Carmel Byrne, either by appointment or at the drop in clinic every Mon lunchtime
Careers Co-ordinator, Mr T Hones
The Librarian, Ms Swinyard, will point you in the direction of resources in the Learning centre.
Your tutor - tutors have a wealth of experience, and all have been to University or college.
Head of Sixth Form.
Your parents - they too have experience which can help you ( as well as some money, if you are lucky, to see you through University).
Your friends. They may have contacts at University or in a local job.
The careers Library. This is found in the Learning Centre, and contains uni prospectuses, information on jobs and careers, books on how to make choices etc.
